Below is our rehearsal schedule for this coming Tuesday. We are making really good progress and Lee and I very much appreciate the good work all of you are doing! Please note we are going to read through two new songs for our Spring Show: Sitting On Top Of The World and Lida Rose. Those songs are now on our website so take a few minutes to listen to the tracks and be more familiar with the tunes prior to rehearsal. (https://croixchordsmen.org/chordsmen-news-1-1)
Looking ahead one month we will be at the District Convention. I attached a rough first show as riser placement for the convention. It is likely that some will need stools as well - and we can arrange for that - no problem. I'll have copies of this chart available on Tuesday during "Polecat time" so when you go into the rehearsal area try to get to your place as listed on the chart.
As I mentioned last week, I thought it would be helpful to list all the songs we have coming up for Christmas and our Spring Show and then give an indication of the status. Lee and I will update this every couple of weeks.
Also, if anyone is interested in participating at the St. Paul Saints "Sing The National Anthem" gig, I listed the details below. Beth and I are planning to go. I'll wear our green chorus shirt to help represent our chorus. It is a fun time!
Thanks
Jay
From Loring Harrop....Time and Place
4:15 inside the ballpark in section 105. Look for all the guys in royal blue North Star shirts. From the Saints:"Please have everyone performing the anthem check in at our fan services table (located in section 105 down the first baseline on our main concourse level) by 4:30PM and we'd be happy to bring your group down to the field from there to get ready for the anthem. If you let me know a rough estimate for the number of performers we're anticipating, I'd be happy to get that updated to our Music Director and make sure we're ready for a fun day out at the ballpark."Let's agree to meet in section 105 a few minutes (10 or so) ahead of time, so 4:15-4:20 to get acquainted. Please know that there will be people with mobility issues (wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc), who should be given space to move ahead of us. There is an elevator on site for those who wish or need to use it.
Once we move downstairs, we'll be in the tunnel used to head out onto the field - very exciting! - note that players and personnel use this tunnel and need to get through, so please stay to one side to allow them room to get by.
Tickets are available now, but maybe not for much longer.
Don't wait - these games sell out. There will be food trucks for snacks and treats, fireworks after the game and other family-friendly fun.
Learning MusicFollow this link to find tracks for each individual part and a track to hear all four together: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1yojbU1iNoeoif4VF0pp7MlDo431RFqPLWe now have a transposed pdf of the arrangement in the new key, specifically voiced for SATB, that should match the learning tracks. Please see the attachment. Those who wish are invited to join the North Stars on Tuesday evening next week to rehearse the anthem at Falcon Heights United Church of Christ, 1795 Holton St., St. Paul 55113. We have a large parking lot (free parking) with plenty of space and we welcome visitors any time. What to Wear
There is no formal outfit, but if you like, wear a solid top in either red, white or blue. Note that temps often cool down significantly at this time of year, so bring a sweater or jacket. If you plan to stay for the fireworks, a blanket to spread out on the infield is wise as well.
Mostly, dress for comfort.

A heartfelt shout out to all the men from my dad's barbershop chorus that he sings in The Croix Chordsmen who stopped by the Greeley Center to spend time with my dad and do some singing with him while he's recovering from his surgery.
I can assure you that you are all appreciated...
I think they were just making sure he got his practice
And thank you to my sister who videotaped them singing tonight.
